Privacy Policy

1. The App

TextPolisher is a macOS menu-bar application that rewrites selected text using Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device language model. All text processing happens locally on your Mac using Apple's Foundation Models framework.

• No text is transmitted to any server. Your drafts, rewrites, and clipboard contents never leave your device.
• No account required. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, or any other personal identifier.
• No telemetry or analytics from the app. The app does not phone home, does not track usage, and does not send crash reports to us.
• No API keys, subscriptions, or cloud services. The app relies solely on Apple Intelligence running on your own hardware.

2. Payments

TextPolisher requires a $1/month subscription. Payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by the payment processor, subject to their privacy policy. We may retain transaction records (amount, date, subscription status) as required for billing and legal compliance.

3. The Website

When you visit textpolisher.app, standard web server access logs may be collected by our hosting provider (Cloudflare). These logs may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this data solely for security and performance monitoring.

The website uses Microsoft Clarity, a session recording and heatmap tool. Clarity may collect anonymized information about how you interact with the site (mouse movements, clicks, scroll depth) to help us improve the website experience. Clarity does not identify you personally. You can learn more at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.

3. Update Checks

When you click "Check for Updates…" in the app, it makes a single HTTPS request to dl.textpolisher.app/appcast.json to fetch the latest version number. This request may include standard HTTP metadata (IP address, user-agent). No personal data beyond what is inherent to an HTTP request is sent, and no information is stored on our end beyond standard server access logs.

4. Third-Party Services

The app's text processing relies on Apple Intelligence (Apple's on-device Foundation Models). We have no access to how Apple's models process your text. Please review Apple's Privacy Policy for information about their on-device AI features.

If you use the optional Ollama fallback engine, text is processed by a local Ollama instance running on your machine. We have no involvement in or access to that processing.

5. Children's Privacy

TextPolisher is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify users via the app's update mechanism.
